What tests will I need to have?
During your fertility check up at iTrust fertility clinics you will have the following tests;
A semen analysis which examines every aspect of your fertility, from your sperm count, sperm mobility and how well your sperm moves to its shape and ability to fertilise the egg.
Lifestyle assessment – We will discuss your lifestyle to make sure there is nothing that could affect the quality of your sperm, such as smoking, excessive alcohol, a high BMI or recreational drug use.
Blood & screening tests – Your fertility specialist Doctor may recommend some blood tests, to review your hormone levels and chromosome abnormalities.
Your fertility specialist will review your results and make the recommendation for the best treatment options for you. At iTrust fertility clinics all or clinical team will give you honest advice and we pride ourselves on our low prices.
What treatment options I can have?
This includes a pelvic ultrasound scan to check for polyps, fibroids and an Anti Mullerian Hormone (AMH) blood test which will give an idea about your ovarian reserve. After the tests, your results will be discussed during your consultation with a fertility specialist. They will give you honest advice on the best treatment options for you.
At iTrust we understand that many women in this age group have difficulty conceiving, and require fertility treatment. In the UK around one in three of all women having fertility treatments are aged 38 or over.
IVF
IVF helps if you have very mild male fertility problems, such as if your sperm is not moving as well as it should.
Your sperm is mixed directly with your partner’s eggs to fertilise them in our laboratory.
ICSI
ICSI is the main treatment used to overcome issues such as problems with a low sperm count, sperm mortality, the shape of your sperm or high levels of DNA damage.
ICSI injects a single, healthy and good quality sperm directly into the egg to fertilise it.
SSR
Surgical Sperm Retrieval (SSR) may be a treatment option if you have an obstruction preventing sperm release.
This could be due to injury or infection, congenital absence of the vas deferens, or if you have had a vasectomy or non-obstructive azoospermia.
What if I need a sperm donor?
If your best option of a baby is to use donor sperm, we make sure that you are involved every step of the way, just as you would be if your own sperm were being used. We have our very own donor bank.
All of our sperm donors are health screened to the strictest HFEA standards, are fully identifiable to your child in future and have the highest quality sperm.
You are able to specify any physical characteristics you would like your sperm donor to have, in most cases men who need to use a sperm donor choose a donor whom they closely resemble. If you need more information then contact our specialist team, our team is here to help you.
Do you offer NHS treatment?
Yes, we offer fertility treatment on the NHS, certain Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will consider allowing you to transfer the funding for your NHS IVF cycles to us.
If you’re eligible for fertility treatment on the NHS, you may be able to Transfer your NHS funded IVF treatment to iTrust fertility clinics.
